S is for Save for your School

Here’s how it works? From August 31-November 29, 2009 all Sweetbay stores will issue “School Dollars” certificates at the register to customers who purchase selected products marked with a Support Schools tag.  These school dollars will be issued in the form of a coupon that prints along with your register receipt. Collect these school dollars throughout the promotional time period and redeem them for cash towards your school.

Look for Sweetbay Supports tags on participating products throughout the store or click here for a complete list.

     a. Buy 3 Supports Schools products = $2 School Dollars

     b. Buy 6 Supports Schools products = $4 School Dollars

     c. Buy 9 Supports Schools products = $6 School Dollars (and so on)

Drop off school dollars at the collection box in the designated school slot at the front of Sweetbay or drop off school dollars at the local school of your choice through December 11th.   

At the end of the promotion, the “School Dollars” will be redeemed for real dollars with a check issued to each school in February 2010.  The top 10 registered schools that raise the most “School Dollars” will receive an additional $1,000 grant from Sweetbay.  

H is for How Do I Sign Up?

Call 800-210-5665 to to sign up for the program.  Schools can be registered with only one (1) Sweetbay store. If your school is not registered properly, simply call 1-800-210-5665 to register or make necessary updates using to your school.

  • Schools must register with only ONE store.  Your school and partner store can be found by calling 800-210-5665.
  • Registration can be done at anytime during the promotional period (8/31-11/29)
  • School dollars collected at local schools must be returned to the partner Sweetbay store by December 11.
  • School dollars must be returned on a timely basis to ensure check distribution. Any dollar coupons returned after the December 11 date will not be included.
  • Checks will be issued in February 2010

T is for Tips for Success

Set a goal! Whether it’s a new playground, equipment, supplies, incentives, or field trip funding, you can use your earned dollars for whatever you wish!


  • Promote the program! Hold a pep-rally, set up a collection box in your school, and send information home with every student.
  • Establish a coordinator who oversees the program from start to finish.
  • Establish a friendly competition between classes and reward the class that collects the most School Dollars with a pizza or ice cream party.
  • Put out a challenge to other area schools and set the bar high.
  • Send reminders throughout the promotional time period letting parents know that they can still collect School Dollars through December 11th.
  • Insert a drop in logo reminder in any school communication, newsletters, etc to remind parents/teachers/friends/family to shop and support our school.
  • Arrange a store tour some time during the program and point out the Sweetbay Supports Schools advertising materials you see while there. See your local store manager for details.
  • Encourage parents to write the name of their school on their School Dollars before placing them in the store collection box.
  • Partner with your nearby Sweetbay stores to help you with any upcoming events and activities.
  • Set up a charge account for your school with Sweetbay to make shopping/contributing to this program even easier. Just fill out and you’re ready to go.
