2010 Sweetbay Supports Schools
Sweetbay will launch its eighth annual “Sweetbay Supports Schools” program, a fundraising opportunity that starts September 8 and continues through November 2nd for area K-12 schools to raise dollars. During the last seven years, Sweetbay has distributed over $855,000 in cash.
With the partnership of The Dairy Council of Florida, we will target Health & Wellness in schools and the moneys collected will be used to support programs that promote healthy habits for kids. When shoppers buy three participating vendor products, they receive incremental $2 School Dollars. Those school dollars are dropped off at the collection box in the store through November 2nd. At the end of the program, the “School Dollars” are redeemed for real dollars with a check issued to each school.
The top collecting school will receive a Grand Prize of $10,000. An additional contribution of $10,000 by the Dairy Council, will be distributed between second, third and fourth place. The 4 winning schools will then be invited to participate in the 1st Sweetbay Health & Wellness Celebrity Bowling Classic along with 8 professional athletes. Finally, Sweetbay will present the check at a school assembly with the assistance of a professional athlete.
